Son and grand-son of wines negotiator, Etienne Brana founded in 1974 the Brana distillery in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, in the Pays-Basque region. Since then, Brana family continues the tradition of winegrower-distiller-distributor. The family have its own orchard of Williams pear, located on hills.
Ripe pears ferment in stainless steel tanks. The pear wine is then kept in airproof vats and the distillation is made in Scottish pot stills, a slow process that creates a high-quality eau-de-vie. It is then put in stainless steel tanks.
The quick evolution of ether demands a constant observation and frequent tastings.
