Officially founded in 1815, with the legalization of whiskey in Scotland, the origins of the Ardbeg distillery could go back to at least 1794. Located on the southeast coast of the island of Islay, it was closed in 1983, then bought in 1997 by Glenmorangie.

• Manufacturing: Non filtered when cold, it is one of the most peaty and smoked single malts of Islay.
