Founded in 1933 by Louis Gambert de Loche, the Cave de Tain benefits from the expertise of 300 wine-growers. They produce wines designated as Hermitage, Crozes Hermitage, Saint Joseph, Cornas and Saint Péray on more than 1 000 hectares. They also produce local wines.

• Terroir: Plots are made of a wide range of soils: alluvial, sandy, clay-limestone and granitic.
   
• Viticulture: Plots yields are limited to guarantee an optimum maturity of the grapes.
   
• Wine-making: This red wine is exclusively made of the Syrah variety. Entirely destemmed, grapes go through a pre-fermentation maceration. This wine partially rests in French oak barrels.
