Fruity and well-rounded

Dark brick colour with a few tiled reflections. Pretty open nose of blackcurrant syrup, redcurrants, blueberries, hints of undergrowth, animal, toasted notes. Good balance, full-bodied, nice attack, quite ample, beautiful envelope, finesse, tight tannins, ripe, coated. Good length, straightforward, typical and elegant.

Niečo o výrobcovi

Acquired in 1973 by Lucien Lurton, the Château de Villegeorge belongs nowadays to its daughter, Marie-Laure. Oenologist, she works in the domain since 1986.


 

• Terroir: The vineyard extends on 12,32 hectares and is located on the city of Avensan. The soils are made of deep gravels.
   
• Viticulture: Vines are 25 years old on average. A sustainable culture has been adopted and the domain received the Terra Vitis designation in 2003. Since then, each vintage received this designation.
   
• Wine-making: The wine rests in barrels for 10 to 16 months in function of the vintage. The bottling is done at the Château.
